Just starting out w Tarot w a few friends and this was recommended by my close friend. Great bc it goes into history and breaks down each suit and Major/Minor Arcana. Some of the cards I have found to have variations of meaning outside of this, so invest in several viewpoints to broaden your intuition. I like that this book gives reverse card interpretations, but know there are also a larger variety of views on how to interpret reverse cards. This is great for beginners!
I love the chapters in the book about using tarot journey for self development and some mention about psychology, but I find the pagination for the minor arcana explanation is hard to navigate. I wish each suit has its own chapter or more distinct separation - that's why I gave 4 stars. Otherwise, this is a good book as supplement reading on the subject in my opinion.
I've been using this book for a while, and just bought the Kindle version to have it on my iPad since I am living la vie mobÃle these days. The book covers all the cards and has some decent insight and covers reverse position, which combined with being concise and relatable, is why it's my carry everywhere tarot book (I have over 30 books in my tarot collection). That said, it tends to lean towards the positive, in fact there is almost nothing negative written in this book, which might be a little too candy coated for some folks. But if you want something fairly comprehensive, and portable, this is the best I've found thus far.
This is turning out to be an indispensable reference in learning how to do readings.
I have a lot of Tarot books and this is one of my favorites because it doesn't delve so much into the "spiritual" stuff but also gives good meanings for several areas. It's a good size, you can fit it anywhere and read it in a waiting room for instance, it's not heavy. I liked it!
I have found this book to be very helpful on my tarot journey â˜ºï¸ I love that it fits in my pocketbook ðŸ˜Definitely glad that I bought it!

Title fooled me. No it isn't. No book can be that comprehensive and still be lifted. This book may appeal to many folks, but it comes off a little too sugar coated for me.
